Important! Please observe when replacing a control unit with which no communication was possible!

After the control unit has been replaced and programmed, injector volume calibration must be carried out. The codes of the injectors fitted on the vehicle must be stored on the new control unit. To perform this operation, use service function т€Injector volume calibrationт€.

Introduction

The control unit connector is a modular design consisting of two connector modules with a total of 154 pins.

  • Connector module 1: 96 pins (interface with engine and injector wiring loom)
  • Connector module 2: 58 pins (control unit power supply and interface with vehicle wiring loom)

Supply voltages

The DDE control unit supplies a number of sensors with a 5 V power supply as detailed below:

  • Supply voltage 1: pedal position sensor 1 (PWG), rail-pressure sensor
  • Supply voltage 2: pedal position sensor 2 (PGS), turbocharger pressure sensor, air mass-flow meter
  • Supply voltage 3: Crankshaft position/rpm sensor

DDE warning lamp activation

The DDE warning lamp is activated when the following faults occur:

  • Pedal position sensor
  • Fuel rail pressure too high/too low
  • Analogue-digital converter monitoring on DDE control unit

Troubleshooting

The DDE control unit is monitored for different internal faults.
